What We Do
Altos de Chiapas is an initiative rooted in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico, where coffee is produced by smallholder farmers within rich cultural and ecological systems.
Bringing together producer organizations from the region, the initiative aims to strengthen their position in the coffee sector by connecting quality with the broader realities of production. Coffee in the Altos is grown within family- and community-based systems, closely tied to territory, identity, and livelihoods.
The initiative is powered by Nuup, a Mexican NGO working to build more equitable and resilient coffee systems.
